Vega who was elected to the PDK International Board representing the newly reconfigured Region C, effective July 1, 2010. This new region will consist of the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.<br /><br />José Vega works in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he has been a professor of education since 1988. He teaches coursework at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Before coming to Wisconsin, he worked as a state administrator for the state of New Jersey and also was employed as a full-time, tenured professor at the State University of New York-New Paltz. During his tenure at River Falls, he has served as assistant dean of the college, program coordinator of the Future Teacher Institute Initiative, and president of the university chapter of PDK. During this time, he and other PDK members helped to write a new organizational plan for the state of Wisconsin, resulting in the creation of the new Wisconsin State chapter of PDK #1611.
