Prospective Educator Scholarships Awarded

August 15, 2011

by Teresa Kruizenga

The PDK Education Foundation annually awards scholarships to prospective educators who have a connection to PDK. Beginning in 2010, the PDK State of Wisconsin Chapter 1611 has forwarded two applications, each year, to the International contest. We were proud to select Katelyn M. Wahlquist and Logan T. Boettcher to be the PDK State of Wisconsin Chapter 1611 applicants for 2011. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Wahlquist and Mr. Boettcher.

We are thrilled to announce that at the June 22, 2011 Meeting of Chapter 1611 Officers a motion was passed to award $800 each to the top two applicants for the 2012 PDK prospective educators, as well as be eligible to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship at the national level. The many generous Kappans, who have donated to our Prospective Educator Scholarship Fund, have made this additional chapter gift possible. We are extremely grateful for the loyalty and generosity of our many Kappan supporters. Our hope is that additional Kappans will recognize the importance of supporting future teachers and contribute to the PDK State of Wisconsin Chapter 1611 Prospective Educators Awards.
